Job Summary:

This career position is responsible for helping to facilitate clients through their daily programing schedules in a residential substance abuse setting. Day-to-day responsibilities may vary.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Monitors client’s behaviors and assist client’s needs during shift.
  • Works directly with clients receiving detoxification services and monitors progress. Charts client vitals per physician order.
  • Supervises self-administered medications with documentation as directed.
  • Conducts supportive one-on-one meetings with clients to help resolve issues.
  • Documents observations/milieu interventions in client’s electronic/paper records.
  • Conducts AMA prevention and crisis intervention with immediate notification to Program Director.
  • Ensures safety of all clients through regular house checks and client rounds.
  • Completes daily shift log.
  • Conducts UA drug screen as directed.
  • Assists with community outings, 12 step meetings and transportation as needed.
  • Facilitates accountability for clients in maintaining room and facility cleanliness.
  • Light cleaning responsibilities.
  • Participates in staff meetings, team meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Maintain ethical boundaries with clients.
  • Special Projects as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Three or more years of verifiable experience in residential/outpatient substance abuse treatment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Drivers License.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of substance abuse related issues and the recovery process.
  • Knowledge of the recovery field including the recovery practices and the 12-step process.
  • Ability to maintain ethical and professional boundaries with clients and staff members.

Job Summary:

This career position is responsible for transporting clients to and from the facility. The ability to follow direction of executive director and safely transport clients in a timely fashion will be imperative in this role. Day-to-day responsibilities may vary.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Safely transport clients to and from doctor appointments, meetings and activities.
  • Ensure all clients are accounted for at all times.
  • Be respectful and caring to clients but must maintain proper boundaries.
  • Inspect assigned vehicle and document mileage on a trip-by-trip basis.
  • Immediately report missing equipment and/or damage to the vehicle or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.
  • At the end of each shift, leave the vehicle locked and secured at the facility.
  • Responsible for obeying all traffic laws, and for reporting any and all violations at the time of occurrence.
  • Immediately notify appropriate individuals of any accidents.
  • Completes necessary accident reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that clients and passengers in the vehicle are wearing their seatbelts prior to operating the vehicle.
  • If a client or a passenger requires immediate emergency resuscitation while in the vehicle or at any other time during the transport, call 911, give the location of the van or area and immediately begin CPR.
  • Under direction of supervising therapist, establish appropriate therapeutic boundaries, utilization of identified clinical resources to review boundaries, limit setting for behavior, and develops therapeutic relations with client.
  • Assists in monitoring the therapeutic activities with patients.
  • Assist other team members as needed.
  • Adhere to safety standards.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Three or more years of verifiable experience in a driving position.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Being able to provide education on theories of addiction to clients and their families is essential. Day-to-day responsibilities may vary.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Complete drug and alcohol assessment and commence individualized treatment plan in collaboration with client.
  • Oversees documentation in clinical section of each client’s electronic health record and quality assurance for deficiencies.
  • Completes clinical assessment and treatment plan for assigned clients.
  • Initiates discharge planning upon admission for assigned clients, and updates discharge plan weekly.
  • Facilitates comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic summary for assigned clients.
  • Facilitates multi-disciplinary treatment planning and updates for assigned clients (ensures inclusion of all treatment modalities/ disciplines).
  • Individual sessions for all assigned clients (at least weekly).
  • Group counseling, education, and meetings per program schedule.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with client’s family/support system throughout duration of client’s treatment.
  • Family/conjoint therapy as specified in individual client’s treatment plans.
  • Coordinates treatment objectives for assigned clients with Clinical Director, Executive Director, and pertinent staff.
  • Coordination of all treatment services needed for assigned client caseload.
  • Facilitates completion of Utilization Reviews for assigned clients on a timely basis.
  • Supports aftercare program by meeting with alumni on an as-needed basis (when approved by Executive Director). Participates in alumni and referral source events pertinent to the facility.

  • Registered with the State of CA.

  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to the created menu for individuals in residential treatment program who are recovering from substance use disorders.
  • Ensure quality and quantity of meals based on client ratio.
  • Adhere to dietary needs of clients and ability to adjust to specific dietary needs as well as communicate and document these needs.
  • Adhere to safety standards when preparing, serving, and storing food.
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies, food, and regularly used items.
  • Clean, maintain, organize, and sanitize cooking utensils, equipment, and dishes in an orderly, organized, and safe manner according to accreditation requirements.
  • Discard outdated food items on a timely basis.
  • Properly clean/sanitize, maintain and organize all kitchen supplies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform individual and/or group therapy sessions with clients utilizing various modalities in line with clinical treatment program.
  • Chart and document clients progress into EMR software; reflecting each resident’s demonstration of participation, presenting manifestations, and plan of action.
  • Perform individual check-ins with each client, and document accordingly into EMR software.
  • Perform supportive therapeutic activities on and off site.
  • Document, assess and provide crisis interventions as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties such as answer phones, make copies, scan documents, filing, etc.
  • Perform Intake Assessments when needed.
  • Provide case management and referrals as needed.

  • Registered as a Therapist Intern with the state of CA.
